Sakhawat Khan , a legendary Performer and a revered teacher in the art of recitation was born on 06 Jan 1958. Since childhood, the verbose expressions of the poems by Rabindranath, Kaji Najrul and the likes attracted him. Pursuing this liking, he started taking lessons from the legendaryperformers like Kaji Sabyasachi,Niladri Sekhar Basu and over time established himself as a performer of the standards set by his teachers.During the meantime he also started bringing the new faces to the limelight through his institution Shrutighar, Duttapukur. In this art of Bachik Shilpa, he contributed immensely through his own performances and his teachings which are still cherished and followed by the learners even today both in West Bengal and Bangladesh.
He breathed his last on 05 Nov 1995.
